SMART is a municipal bus service. SMART bus video confirmed that Plaintiff’s vehicle came to an abrupt stop and collided with the left side of a SMART bus after attempting to overtake the bus at a traffic signal. Contrary to the video footage, Plaintiff testified that the SMART bus came from behind her, ran the red light and side-swiped her vehicle.

A vehicle under dispatch by Uber and a truck were involved in a motor vehicle accident. The truck driver was at-fault. The Uber driver sustained serious injuries. The truck had auto liability limits of $100,000 and an umbrella policy . Uber provided underinsured motorist coverage in the amount of $1,000,000.

MCL §450.4904(2) requires that the members and managers of a professional legal liability corporation (PLLC) be licensed in the state of Michigan. MCL §500.3157 requires that treatment giving rise to a claim for PIP benefits must be rendered lawfully.

Plaintiff was involved in a hit and run accident on August 8, 2017, and did not make a police report until August 10, 2017. The Appellate Court stated that UM benefits are not automatic like PIP benefits. They are subject to the contractual provisions of the claimant’s policy, not Michigan Law.

Plaintiff, an independent contractor, filed a negligence action after he slipped and fell in Defendant’s parking lot injuring his ankle. Defendant Dealership successfully argued before the Trial Court that a person of ordinary intelligence would have appreciated the danger in the parking lot given the presence of snow and near freezing temperatures.

Beaumont hospital hired Plaintiff construction workers as part of a sidewalk repair. Unexpected electrical wires were discovered during the repair and work ceased. The construction workers were subsequently and erroneously apprised that the electrical conduit was dead and that work could resume.
